The Obsession
The Obsession is a daunting, nerve-racking thriller from the makers of mama and stoker. A teenage boy meets his dream girl and soon forms an obsession on her, but she has a boyfriend. Will she find out?

Obsession is about a boy that moves into a lonely, boring town that was until he meets the girl of his dreams. He soon finds out that he can't have her which leads to him following and stalking her to form an unhealthy obsession. This obsession goes as far as him planning to kill her boyfriend. Little does he know that people closer to him know all about his obsession and are just waiting for the right time to end it.. but does that go according to plan?

Film poster and trailer



The genre of Insidious is horror. The fact that the boy is covered in blood creates a sense of mystery and makes the audience think about what has happened. We can see a old fashioned looking house with a cloudy sky which emphasises the fact that its a horror. The boy has a dead look on his face which shows us that he might of killed someone also seen by the blood on his face. Seeing as we can't see any other houses tells the audience that it's in an isolated area.


The trailer has a lot of flashing images and people jumping out dressed up looking scary. This shows us that it's a horror movie due to the fast pace images creating a fear of the unknown which emphasis on the fact that it's a horror also it has a lot of ghosts in it The dark colours show us that it's going to be a jumpy film due to the fact its widely used in horrors.

The genre of pacific rim is science fiction and action. It's about monsters/aliens coming and attacking earth and its set in the future and we know that because of the technology used in the film. The film is about fighting monsters and making monsters. We know it's a action film due to the fights scenes and explosives also, we know it's a science fiction film due to the advanced technology that hasn't been invented yet.

Audience Profile

 Audience Profile - Guitar Hero


My audience profile was on guitar hero. In guitar hero most of the songs are bands so I added some rock band names/album covers. I added a kerrang magazine which is a rock channel and seeing as it has a lot of rock music the people they targeted probably watch or listen to it. I also add some clothing names for example ed hardy which is a gothic clothing line which adds onto the guitar hero audience profile. I also added some other things that I thought would fit in with the audience profile for guitar hero.

Typography


Typography


For every word it was written with the meaning of the word and it was just in black which means you have to pick the exact font/effect to represent it. For example with personality it was written with every letter in a different font with represents personality seeing as everyone has got their own one and some are very different to others. Also, falling was written as if the letter were falling down the page which represents the meaning of the word.


By adding colour it makes the words look like how they mean, for example with relax it looks like a wave and its blue and that represents the ocean which is also very relaxing and calm. With madness its written in a unique writing and also it has different colour for each letter which represents the madness in the word. Finally with mistake it has a red cross through it which looks like its been crossed out like a mistake would be.

This picture story is about a drug dealer in school that was selling drugs to other student which is shown with different camera shots.


 This first picture shows a guy phoning a drug dealer, this is a medium close up which shows the head and shoulders. I chose this shot because it shows the item in her hand.



This shows the drug dealer talking to the other guy. This is a medium shot which shows the head to waist. I chose this camera shot because it shows what he's wearing and what he's holding in his hand.




 This shows the drugs being exchanged. This is a wide shot/establishing shot which shows the background. I chose this shot because it shows the background and you can see its in a school as there are gates and they are in school uniform and it shows the location/scene.



This shows the guy walking away after getting the drugs and the drug dealer is on the phone. This is a long shot which shows the head to toe and the background but a bit more zoned in then before. I chose this shot because it shows the guy walking off and you can tell the drugs have been given.

I think the colours were really effective because they represented the colours of autumn seeing as they used oranges, reds, yellows, browns and greens. Also, it was effective as some colours were bright and some were duller which adds to the theme about autumn and it make those fruits stand out more.

It about football so the people are all men in the advert and they have a dog which is known as a mans best friend.
The genre of this video game is sport.
The denotation of Fifa 13 is a video game and the connotation is that seeing as there is people with cameras it could mean that you are the footballer.  
The meaning of the advert is to make you buy the game.

Fifa 13 was developed by EA Canada, the publisher was Electronic Arts.

Audience:
This game is for boys 3+ and it influences it audience by making it all about football.
The customers hold the power.
Boys are target because Fifa 13 genre is sports and its about football and boys play more sports than girls. Boys are buying this game more than girls are, and seeing as thy're all sitting on the sofa it presents men as lazy, also all the boys are wearing blue which is known as a boys colour. Furthermore, there is a dog 

Representation:
There is stereotypes about Fifa 13 because boys are more likely to play football than girls are.
They influence there audience by adverts and making it look good and boyish.
They learn how to play football online.

Call of duty: black ops is a first person shooter game which can be played on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. The price of the game is £42.99 and it hasn't decreased in price due to the popularity of the game. Black ops 2 was released on November 13 2012. In 2012 the number of copies sold of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was nearly 2.7 million which shows that it was successful. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was named as the biggest selling entertainment title in 2012. Black Ops 2 also allows players to team up and fight zombies in public game matches. Sometimes they add new map packs which means they add new maps and maybe guns to keep the players interested in the game so they will carry on playing also you can compete with other players in their places on the Leaderboards where they can compare kills, deaths etc.
There’s another Call of Duty coming out in November and its called Ghost.
Reviews:
Maximumpc rated black ops 8 out of 10 and said "It also sports a reasonably improved multiplayer mode and an all-new zombie mode that is a bit cliché at this point, but still is a lot of fun" 
Metacritic rated Black ops 83 out of 100 and said "The game does offer an interesting single player experience and a cool zombie mode, unfortunately with dated graphics."

The target audience for the video game is boys 18+ mainly between the ages of 18 to 24.
How successful is was
Before Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops came out and there's another Call of Duty coming out in November called Call of Duty: Ghost. Black Ops 2 has sold nearly 2.7 million copies in the year it came out which shows how successful the game has been and also the price hasn't decreased  which shows that even after a year the game is still successful.
Gameindustry wrote about the marketing of the video game before it came out and it says how they done it;
"The campaign actually kicked off in the earnest back on April 23. Activision worked with popular YouTube channel FPS RUSSIA / FPS RUSSIA demonstrated a "weapon from the future" and teased that it may make an appearance in the next Call of Duty. Within 48 hours, the video saw over five million views and now has over eight million."
This shows that the marketing did in fact work seeing as "within 48 hours, the video saw over five million views" and it also shows that a lot of people were waiting for the game to come out

Promoting and marketing videogames/ Hunger games training


Hunger games training:

For the campaign we had to promote the game the 'Hunger game;training.' My group included the logo and slogan which was 'You're in control' and a bit about the game; how much its cost and who's it aimed at etc on a poster. The target audience was boys and girls aged 10-17 because boys like action (lots of fighting) and the girls like that there's a heroine and romance.We included the key information about the game but I think we should of added more information or even made a power point so that's where I think the campaign didn't do so well, however it was very eye catching. :))

The genre for this movie is action because there is a lot of violence and car racing. Fast and furious is mainly for boys from the ages of 12-25. About 80% of the audience would be male, due to the amount of cars and violence. You can watch this in the cinema, online (laptops or computers) and later on DVD.

Media

Well, I chose media because I heard that it was easy, enjoyable and in the movie trailers it looked a lot of fun. Furthermore, it’s interesting learning about how to make a video and how you make it look good for your target audience. Also, I wanted to create my own magazines and trailers because you get to use your own creativity and you can make a magazine based on the things you like and you get to be imaginative. What I hope to achieve in Media is improving my ICT skills and also improving my drama skills as it’s not one of my strong points. Also, it will help me with my teamwork skills and communication skills because you work in groups for the controlled assessments and that would help you in your future life.  Lastly, I would like to achieve a good grade (above a C)
